Los Ángeles.- La película ‘Birdman’, del mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, fue nominada a nueve premios Oscar por la Academia estadounidense de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas.
«Birdman» competirá por la estatuilla dorada en la categoría de mejor película junto a ‘American Sniper’, ‘The Gran Budapest Hotel’, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Imitation Game’, ‘Selma’, ‘The Theory of Everything’ y ‘Whiplash’.
Gónzález Iñárritu también fue nominado en la categoría de Mejor Director.
Aunque ha estado cerca, Iñárritu nunca ha ganado el Oscar que otorga la Academia de Ciencias y Artes Cinematograficas (AMPAS, por sus siglas en ingles) pero ya fue nominado a mejor director por ‘Babel’ (2007).
También fue nominado al Oscar, sin ganarlo, a mejor cinta extranjera por ‘Amores perros’ (2001) y ‘Biutiful’ (2011) y a mejor cinta ‘Babel’ (2007).
De ganarlo, González Iñárritu sería el segundo director mexicano en poseerlo y de manera consecutiva después de que el año pasado Alfonso Cuarón fue el primero en ganarlo por ‘Gravity’.
‘Birdman’ también recibió nominaciones a mejor actor protagonista (Michael Keaton), mejor Fotografía (el mexicano Emmanuel Lubezki), mejores actores secundarios masculino y femenino (Edward Norton y Emma Stone), guión original, montaje y sonido).
Por primera vez en muchos años la academia reveló este jueves en vivo las 24 categorías que estarán en disputa y cuyos ganadores se conocerán el 22 de febrero en el Teatro Dolby de Hollywood.
La 87 ceremonia anual de la más importante entrega de premios en Hollywood es organizada por la Academia de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas.
